Marchesa Notte debuted a lookbook on NYFW.com to showcase their Spring 2021 Ready-to-Wear collection. The collection is said to be inspired by Frida Kahlo’s vibrant villa known as La Casa Azul (The Blue House). Reminiscent of a vibrant waterfront villa, the color palette is made up of oceanic blue and gree hues with splashes of coral, pale purple, and white.

Quite a few pieces feature ruffled hemlines and full cascading skirts. Bits of iridescence bring a festive atmosphere to the collection with metallic abstract printed fabrics and sequined adornments.

Collections standouts are:

This royal blue caped gown. The elegance speaks for itself.

This two-piece ruffled short set with a matching necktie – which can easily be worn as a headband, bracelet, on your purse handle, or as any other accessory.

This black-and-white ruffled hem dress. The large floral bloom printed fabric makes this dress a statement piece. The black-and-white color scheme makes it an empty palette for colorful accessories.

This fabulously breezy dress with a layered ruffle hem and, of course, a matching necktie. This dress is excellent because it can be worn for multiple occasions.

While this collection is a beauty to look at, Marchesa Notte would have benefited from a video presentation like many of their NYFW counterparts. The florally decorated set paired with the gorgeous floral designs would have made for a great digital fashion show. It seems like an opportunity missed.  And yet, there’s still time in Fashion Month left to wow the viewers!
