Netflix is giving more information about their deal with Megan Thee Stallion.
Deadline talked to Netflix’s head of comedy, Tracey Pakosta, and she said the streaming service is working on a new show that’s based on the life of the Houston rapper.
“It’s very early stages,” she said. “She came in and she pitched something loosely based on her life growing up, and we got very excited about it. We think she’s special.”
A few months ago, Netflix said that Meg had signed a first-look deal with them. Pakosta said that she was a “multi-talented creative force.”
In Pakosta’s words, “Megan is a multi-talented creative force who has consistently made her mark on culture.” They say she’s always growing and evolving as an artist. “We’re thrilled that she’s making a home at Netflix for this next chapter in her journey.”
Megan also talked about her deal with Netflix saying that she’s excited about the possibilities that come with working with Netflix.
So, she said, “I’ve always had a passion for telling creative and entertaining stories, so I’m thrilled about this partnership with Netflix. Venturing into production is the next step in my journey as an entrepreneur and I can’t wait to bring all my ideas to life and for my Hotties to watch.”
So far, the show’s name and plot have not been made public.
