New York Fashion Week attendees may be the only set of people prepared to suffer the weather for a great look. We had a mixed bag of weather this season, with snowfall and bitterly cold days in the second half of the week and sunny, almost 60-degree temperatures in the start. Even though the sunshine was ephemeral, it provided guests at February’s fashion shows with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ditch their winter coats and show off some of springs newest arrivals – even when the temperatures fell.
We see long leather jackets, trenches, and weap coats in springy colors if we look through all the street style photos. There were plenty of bare ankles, low-cut necklines, and mini-skirts to boot, in addition to lighter outerwear options. It’s safe to assume that, regardless of the weather, New Your Fashion Week street style icons will wear, well, whatever they want.
Completely Khaki
What could be more spring-like than donning a neutral beige color from head to toe? Get the style with a pair of beautiful pleated trousers and a classic spring trench, then finish with a matching bucket hat – ideal for the upcoming spring showers!
In The Trenches
You can’t deny the cool factor of a leathery trench when it comes to street style. For those in-between spring days, a trench coat is great, and a leather version improves the style. If you do decide to wear one before the end of the season, we recommend layering underneath.
An Ankle Debut
There’s no better way to put winter behind you than by removing your socks entirely. And, there’s no better way to declare that you’re ready for spring than to show some skin.
New Beginnings
Why wait for the daffodils to bloom to signal the start of a new season when you can wear a coat in the same hue? Until the weather warms up, we recommend layering a pair of knit gray pieces underneath for added warmth.
Dress Over Pants
Why not layer a flowing shirtdress over slacks this spring? It doubles as outerwear in this case, and we fantasize about the days when we won’t need to wear a coat at all.
