Following the success of ‘Glass Skin’ and ‘Dolphin Skin,’ TikTok viewers are now raving about ‘Jello Skin,’ a new anti-aging skincare craze from Korea. While this new trend is mostly about increasing collagen production, it also incorporates the holistic beauty notion.
K-beauty, or Korean beauty, continues to be one of the key drivers of the beauty trends that flood TikTok. A new viral skincare trend known as “Jello Skin” is the latest in line.
“Jello Skin” is clearly a reference to Jell-O, a vividly colored gelatine dessert popular in the United States and Canada. TikTok influencer @glowwithava, who routinely provides tips and techniques with her 1.4 million followers, has become somewhat emblematic of this viral skincare trend, to the point where she labels her numerous accounts with the #jelloskin hashtag, which has garnered 14.2 million views on TikTok.

Firm, Plump Skin
Before it became a cosmetic procedure, “Jello Skin” was a term used to describe firm, plump skin that was bouncy like gelatin, as well as the various Korean tips and methods for achieving it. And it all comes down to one thing, according to @glowwithava. To put it another way, if you want to have “Jello Skin,” you need to increase your collagen production, a protein that slows the symptoms of skin aging but reduces after the age of 30.
Diet, exercise, massage, and skincare must all be combined, according to the TikToker, to achieve this firm and plump, almost bouncy-looking skin.
A trend that eventually relates to the underlying holistic beauty movement, which can be characterized as taking an all-encompassing, from the inside out approach to beauty.
@glowwithava recommends mixing collagen powder into one’s yogurt for breakfast, wearing sunscreen every day, exercising, and even using masks with certain ingredients. That’s not all, though. According to the influencer, eating vitamin C-rich meals (red fruits, citrus fruits, certain green vegetables, or even certain cereals), performing face massages — with or without specific tools — and, of course, using anti-aging cosmetics are all important to stimulate collagen production.
A movement that appears to be gaining traction all around the world.
