During a recent broadcast of “Good Morning America,” Ciara assisted in surprising a 6-year-old superfan with an all-expenses-paid trip to Disney World.
Aubrey English, who was diagnosed with cancer just months before her third birthday, won the hearts of fans all over the world in 2018 after her mother shared a video of the toddler dancing along to Ciara’s “Level Up” tune while receiving treatment in the hospital.
“Dear childhood cancer, just so you know, I won’t give up,” English’s mother said in the description, in addition to the popular video. “I won’t give in. You won’t take my spirit. You won’t take my spunk. You may be in my life but you don’t have my life.”
Aubrey English, who is now cancer-free, and her family come on the show on January 3 to tell her tale. Ciara acknowledged her admiration for English after the conversation.
“Oh my gosh,” she exclaimed. “I am in tears right now. Aubrey, I just want to say that you are a superhero. You are the real superhero. And I am so impressed by your strength and how you never gave up in your battle against cancer. You inspire me and so many people and so many others. And when I saw dance to ‘Level Up,’ I could not wait to talk to you today. You have no idea how much joy you bring to my heart.”
“I’m just so proud of you,” the 36-year-old continued, expressing her admiration for English. And I can’t wait to see what you are going to do next. You are a real ‘Level Up’ princess, so keep leveling up and inspiring so many, Aubrey. I’m so proud of you and rooting for you always.”
The program ended with Princess Tiana from Disney’s “The Princess and the Frog” and the “GMA” hosts sending English and her family to Disney World for four days and five nights.
As admirers watched the video, several remarked on how “wonderful” English’s story was, as well as the shocks.
“LITTLE LADY, LEVEL UP…
“Beautiful!”
“Beautiful.”
“Beautiful and heartwarming!”
“It’s almost as lovely as she is.” “Little Princess, you are stunning.”
While seeing the video, one person stated that they were overtaken with emotion. “Someone cutting onions,” said the individual.
