There is a fashion week dedicated to servicing hundreds of businesses and designers from all over the world in New York, London, Paris, and Milan. These fashion week shows (both in-person and online) serve as the epicenter of trends and releases, showcasing the work of the industry’s most skilled individuals.
These New York Wedding Fashion Week Shows, on the other hand, are highly anticipated events for people who live and breathe bridal fashion. Twice a year, the most up-to-date collections, details, splendor, and styles are showcased for brides and wedding fans around the world to enjoy.

What Is New York Bridal Fashion Week?
New York Bridal Fashion Week is an industry event held twice a year in October and April, during which designers and manufacturers present their latest collections to brides, retail buyers, and the media. Designers used to show off their new collections at exclusive parties, presentations, and large-scale runway shows. Due to the virtual nature of today’s society, however, an increasing number of people now have access to each collection as it is produced.
During a jam-packed three-day virtual and in-person affair, legacy designers like Monique Lhullier, Marchesa, Amsale, and Maggie Sottero (to name a few) will all be present—alongside smaller and newer brands. The shows are scheduled to begin each day at 9:00 a.m. EST and end between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. EST, and are co-ordinated by The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), the sole owner and organizer of the Fashion Week schedule, and The Bridal Council.
How To Watch Virtually
Before going virtual, each company would invite a select group of industry insiders and professionals to see their latest works. Images of the collections would be distributed to media sources so that the general public could see them once they were released. Thankfully, you don’t need an invitation to enjoy the shows in their entirety.
The CFDA, The Briday Council, and individual bridal designers have jointly and creatively adapted to virtual procedures, and now provide public access to virtual shows, videos, panel discussions, and more.
The Bridal Council’s executive director, Michele Iacovelli, recommends that you see this year’s collections on the organization’s website, where the full schedule, designer films, and look books will all be available for public viewing. While this is fantastic news for women who want an exclusive look at this coveted event, it’s important to know that not every designer will live-stream to the public. Regardless, the collections will be available to the public via RUNWAY360 on the CFDA’s website.
How To Follow The Trends
As previously said, this three-day event is when fashion, cosmetics, and accessory trends are formed and put into motion for months to come. It’s also a fantastic time for brides to start looking for the perfect gown, particularly one that hasn’t been worn yet.
First and foremost, it’s critical to be conscious of what you want and what fashion decision you’d like to embrace on your wedding day when seeing the collections. “[Brides] need to take their needs and wants into consideration when going to see a new collection.” Dana Harel, founder of her eponymous luxury bridal business, told Brides. “Before looking for a wedding dress, a bride should think first about who she is and what she wants. Every [bride] has their own personality and charm, and in order to find the right dress for their big day, they must think: How do I want to look and what will suit me best? Am I the romantic type? Do I want a fresh, light gown? Or, do I feel like wearing a very embroidered royal dress,” she added.
“Brides should be looking for a dress that speaks to their personal style, but also with wearability in mind.”
Georgina Chapman, creative director and co-founder of Marchesa also adds that before diving into Bridal Fashion Week, it’s critical for brides to understand their own particular style. Otherwise, the plethora of dress possibilities might be overwhelming, and some people may lose sight of their initial idea. “[The bride’s] style choices and memories will live on forever,” says renowned bridal designer Ines di Santo, “so staying true to herself and her idea of her dream dress is most important.”
