Yesterday evening, stars and starlets alike graced the red carpet at the top like graced the red carpet at the 26th annual screen actors Guild awards. From an adorable Stranger Things cast reunion to jaw-dropping gowns, we could not help but spot several fabulous trends traipsing across our screens. Here are some of the hottest trends spotted at the 2020 SAG awards.
Ruffles and puff sleeves
Ruffles ruffles everywhere! Ruffles and puffs continue to take the fashion scene by storm. Puff and balloon sleeves have been trending for nearly two seasons now and they do not seem to be taking a step back. Here we see Kathryn Newton in a Valentino gown with structured sleeves and a full ruffled skirt.
Later in the night, we see stunner Cynthia Erivo in a Schiaparelli gown that features an artfully tiered and ruffled skirt.
Stunning suits
The suits were out to play this evening. From “Stranger Things” stars Noah Schnapp and Finn Wolfhard to “This is Us” star Sterling K Brown, the suit-spiration was endless. Our personal fave? Noah, of course! Here’s to hoping Noah’s suit is unisex because it is just my style!
The Eighties ‘R’ Good Enough
Millie Bobby Brown was the topic of conversations in an 80s inspired dress and pant ensemble custom made by Louis Vuitton designers. While some deemed the look as “mother-of-the-bride-ish”, I would not say it is a complete miss. Six months from now, we’ll all be borrowing style inspiration from the 80s.
Intricate braids
Stars Danai Gurira and Ryan Michelle Bathe caught eyes with their intricate and detailed braids. I am definitely borrowing some inspiration from them for future protective styles.
Sleek sharp cuts
Stars Zoe Kravitz and Cynthia Erivo added to the edgy hair looks with sleek and sharp cuts. Will short cuts be the ultimate 2020 hair trend?
