During the pandemic, various award shows have been postponed or canceled. But this past Sunday, The Academy decided that the Emmy’s will go virtual! Emmy trophies were teased outside of nominee’s doors (by interns donning hazmat suits) and to be quickly whisked away or handed over with each winning announcement. Nominees and celebrities donned their gowns in their living rooms, hotel rooms, or backyards. The virtual award show did not stop anyone from welcoming their glam squad and stylists into the mix.
Law Roach, the Image Architect, had the opportunity to style both Zendaya and Kerry Washington for the night!
Kerry Washington donned two looks: 1 – This gorgeous floral Oscar de la Renta dress paired with Jimmy Choo shoes. 2 – This dazzling Dolce & Gabbana dress paired with Louboutin shoes. Paired with a sharp, shoulder-grazing bob, Kerry is channeling a look from flappers of the roaring ’20s.
Zendaya, the youngest ever best actress in a drama series winner, donned two looks, also sculpted by Law Roach! Look 1 – This Christopher John Rogers dress paired with Louboutin shoes, and Bulgari was the talk of the night! Look 2 – Zendaya accepted her award wearing a custom Giorgio Armani gown.
Yara Shahidi also donned a custom look wearing a custom Prada gown made up of a faux fur bodice paired with a high-slit bejeweled skirt.
Regina King wore a piece of wearable art in the form of a gorgeous blue-hued one-shoulder gown. Designed by Schiaparelli Couture by Daniel Roseberry, the stunning blue highlighted King’s gorgeous skin perfectly!
Laverne Cox also wore a one-shoulder gown in a vibrant hue. Paired with a neat top knot bun and a sharp bang, the look is polished yet standout.
Billy Porter stunned once again! Porter always brings elegance and theatrics to the red carpet! This look says I am giving you cozy, warm, and luxe.
Issa Rae stunned in an eye-popping orange gown, which she then crip-walked in as her Emmy-winning celebration dance.
What an awards season! I wonder what other awards shows will go virtual this year.
