As most 90’s trends do, tie-dye has found its way back at the forefront of the fashion cycle. Gone are the tie-dye prints that are strictly bright yellow, red, and green. Now we’re seeing the incorporation of the entire color wheel with some tie-dye pieces coming in dark browns (and even blacks). It’s a bold trend, and many are still wary of it after being scared by wayward handmade camp shirts. Here are a few ways you can incorporate the trend into your wardrobe without going overboard (or staining your washer).

Leggings are a quick way to throw on and go. Scoop up some tie-dye leggings and add an intricate wrap top (in a solid coordinating color) and heels to make your look a bit more elevated than your traditional leggings look.

Tie-dye was a big swimwear trend this season! Whether you’re a modest gal or flaunt-it-if-you-got-it type of gal, there’s a lookout there for you. If you’re feeling the classic all-black one-piece swimsuit, add a pop of color with a tie-dye scarf or belt tied around your waist.

Menswear typically shy away from bold prints and fabrics, which is why I love this rebellious look so much! I just love how this NYC stylist pattern mixed with such bold prints yet still looked chic.

Out with the LBD, in with the TDD! A tie-dye mini dress is sure to be a showstopper at the next quarantine-club!

Running errands

I love a good jumpsuit for just throwing on and running errands! Match it with a fanny pack and a pair of sneakers (or sandals).

This simple dress is the perfect shape and style for a more elevated look. You could wear this to a brunch meetup with friends or dinner at a quiet (curbside) restaurant.

Transitioning tie-dye into fall

Transition the tie-dye trend to fall by wearing it long-sleeved and pairing it with jeans. I’d wear this to a back-to-school night cause I’m a cool mom!

You can even wear tie-dye to work on casual Friday. Opt for tie-dye in a neutral color (like tan/brown or olive green). You’ve instantly upped the classic casual Friday uniform (at tee + blazer + jeans) just a tad bit without toeing the line between unprofessional and stylish.
