Badgley Mischka’s Spring Summer 2021 show opened up to a scene of lavish garden grounds perfect for an afternoon tea party. A wooden lattice adorned with gorgeous bushels of white flowers picturesquely framed a model in a crimson red gown with Fuschia puffed sleeves.

Heavy iron gates are pushed open by a statuesque model in blush pink, intricately ruffled gown.

One could mistake this scene for a royal wedding until a model is seen sashaying through the woods in a sequined striped leisure pantsuit complete with a matching sash belt (very 70s!)

The collection continues to unfold with a white two-piece set made of a sequined blazer securely cinched at the waist with a sash belt worn over a semi-sheer gown with a pleated skirt.

The hair and makeup were evidently kept simple to highlight the pieces’ ability to stand alone.

In this, we see an intricately patterned floral caftan paired with simple sandals and slicked back hair followed by a white lace sequined top paired with a billowing blue floral maxi skirt and a green and white striped sashed belt.

A flowing sleeveless sundress features the same green and white striped fabric, which is exciting considering recent talks regarding the sustainability within the fashion industry spoke of reusing and recycling fabrics.

Very few looks during the show are accessorized. But when they are, the accessories are gorgeous dangling earrings and arm pieces adorned with large blooms.

The collection closes out with two gorgeous pleated dresses of complementary colors. This teal green belted pencil dress with a pleated blouse, and a straight pencil skirt is very 80s inspired.

This green flowing maxi gown with balloon sleeves and pleated skirt is the perfect collection closure complementing the rosy color palette.

Badgley Mischka seemed to pay close attention to creating a socially distanced presentation with no more than two models and long shots or drone shots used as often as possible. What a smart way to adapt to the changing industry!
