Chromat collaborated with Rebook and used their virtual NYFW slot to promote trans athletes’ rights and activism. As trans dancers, track runners, and artists graced the screen, trans rights activists and ACLU lawyer, Chase Strangio spoke about their work and their fight for trans athletes who have faced backlash for simply wanting to compete in their favorite sports.
Fashion with a message has been extremely popular this season as designers and brands find better ways to intertwine their activism with their brand. With the recent Black Lives Matter protests, some NYFW shows have included moments of silence, BLM logos, and trans models. The eye-catching collection combines activism with fashion.
The collection color scheme features deep royal blues, lime green, bright oranges, yellows, and sprinkles of pink.
Activewear from fun sports bras to soccer jersey’s to biker shorts and incredibly vibrant Reebok sneakers played across the screen.
Chromat x Reebok is one of few brands to feature faces masks in their collection amongst Anna Sui, Rebecca Minkoff, and Imitation of Christ. These masks are full of color and vibrance, perfect for the Spring/Summer season.
Collection standouts are
This teal blue bikini paired with an orange caged bodysuit.
These yellow and aqua blue sneakers (obviously worn with the coordinating track pants).
This yellow crop top with black racing stripes. It’s giving athleisure – it can easily be paired with biker shorts or track pants but would also look great paired with a mini skirt.
The collection is sure to be a streetwear favorite considering Reebok’s popularity and affordability.
