Trend Alert – what’s old is new again! Spotted on the runways (and on the streets), color blocking has made a flamboyant return!

Color is everywhere: fiery oranges combined with playful pinks, regal royal blues melding with luxurious yellow-golds, jade greens complimented with indigo accessories. Designers are once again proving that lively colors are not just for the Spring and Summer seasons. Splash a bit of color into your wardrobe with these daring mash-ups.

Instead of plain black tights, try opting for some colorful hosiery under your skirts and dresses.

When your go-to work suit is feeling a bit bland, opt for a contrasting handbag to add a bit of flair. As seen at the Balmain show, burnt orange and royal blue make an excellent combination.

Street Style Hack: Take a note from Blair Eadie! When the Fall transition weather is feeling quite unpredictable, layer your lightweight sweater with maxi skirts to add volume and warmth on these particularly windy days.

Feeling extra daring? Switch out your shoes to contrast! But that’s only for the real diehards who own multiple pairs of the same shoe in different colors.

*cough cough* Repeat after me: “My name is [Insert Name Here] and I am a shoeaholic.”

For a more sporty look, pair a muscle tank with simple pants (some vintage track pants would be excellent). Or opt for a mesh tee with complimentary bikers shorts and a contrasting corset.

Whether you are feeling bold and jumping right into the color wheel or feeling timid and just want to dip your toe, color blocking is for everyone – even the neutral crowd!
