Can you actually believe it, Hot 97’s Summer Jam is 20 years in. The one concert that the Tri-State looks forward every summer is still running strong. This year was not a disappointment with acts like Chris Brown, Kendrick Lamar and French Montana headlining, but if you have followed Summer Jam then you know everyone is concerned with the surprise guest that hits the stage. HOT 97’s Summer Jam is known for its all-star line-up and unforgettable surprises. Wu-Tang Clan ruled the stage at the first ever HOT 97 Summer Jam and came back to celebrate the 20th anniversary.
Concert goers kicked off the day in the Festival Village, where Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$, A$AP Ferg, Vinny Cha$e, Smoke DZA, Bodega Bamz, Troy Ave, Kid Ink, and the winner of the 2013 Who’s Next Battle for the Best, Radamiz, all took to the stage. The final round of the Boost MC Battle started the festivities, with KB, hailing from New Rochelle, taking home the grand prize of a single deal with Duck Down Records, artist feature on HOT97.com, and more! As fans lined up at the HOT 97 Autograph Booth to meet the world-renowned HOT 97 jocks, Festival Village vendors got the crowd hype with all of their giveaways and promotions, including ticket upgrades, free swag, and a car!

HOT 97’s annual Summer Jam concert is the largest and most anticipated summer concert event. Miguel was amazing, performing hits like “Sure Thing,” ‘’How Many Drinks” and “Adorn” — all as the crowd sang along. The crowd went crazy when he brought out diva Mariah Carey to sing her new single, “Beautiful,” where he is featured.
The night got started with a performance by Chris Brown. He gave the ladies all they paid for by stripping for them in the middle of his set. He also excited the crowd by bringing out Sean Kingston to perform his verse on ‘Beat It’ and Fabolous for their song ‘Ready’.
Surprising the whole Tri-State, Nikki Minaj made a guest cameo during 2Chainz’s set to perform ‘I Love Them Strippers’ and ‘Beez In The Trap’. She wasn’t fully welcomed as only half of the crowd erupted when she stepped on the stage.
Hot 97 saved the best for last as French Montana, the hometown hero ripped the stage with his set. There was a rumor circling that he was going to bring out Jay-Z at this time but that didn’t happen. Instead of brought out Hip Hop stars Rick Ross and Lil Wayne to perform ‘Pop That’. The crowd went crazy even through the rain.
