Original and compelling music is the foundation of a unique artist. Their music, voice and style evoke the audience and create lust for more. Having talents distinguished among an extensive range of artists is phenomenal. The cunning techniques steal the “spotlight” from your usual lackluster artist whose material is just…. TIRED!!!!! The spotlight artist creates musical history and goes above and beyond to create memories for a lifetime.
Def Jam sensation Luke James defines the image of the spotlight artist ranking among the best. The music industry sits at the edge of their seats; waiting for what Luke James throws at them next. With his 2013 Grammy nominated critically acclaimed single, “ I Want You,” cements his position in the game. The nomination came as a surprise to Luke, as he has yet to release his official studio album, “Made to Love.” Luke’s raw talent and drive has won the hearts of his growing fan base and media professionals alike; making him worthy of the nomination. He takes us back to the moment where he found out about his nomination, describing it as “mind blowing”. He states: “ I was on my way to an album listening party for Stacy Barthe at my lawyers house. Even though he didn’t get to take home the much-anticipated Grammy, he walked away with a positive attitude. Subsequently, Luke reflects on many changes in his career since then, “ Being nominated has certainly opened more doors and has solidified myself as an artist and performer.”
Luke’s brilliance is evident; recognition of his work has landed him a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2012 Soul Train Music Awards. Even though the nomination spells out “New Artist,” Luke is a far stretch from that. Being multi talented, his music has been heard in the homes of POP and R&B lovers across the country. He has collaborated with profound artist like Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears and Keri Hilson. When composing music he doesn’t find it difficult to adapt and create a hit. “ It’s about tapping into people, understanding where they’re coming from, what they want to say, and knowing what sounds great on them as a vocalist.” He finds it engaging to produce music of different genres for others.“ It’s all in the sound.
