New York – H&M chose Lady Gaga to head up the ribbon cutting and lighting of the H&M logo to their Megastore in Times Square at midnight on Thursday, November 13th. Fans braved the cold for multiple hours for a chance to shop with the fashion forward pop star. Known for her unique fashion choices, Gaga showed up looking fabulous, wearing a hand painted Kerin Rose Gold jumpsuit and killer black platform heels while arriving in a ARTPOP (name of her recently released album) bus.
The H&M new flagship store is 42,000 square feet and takes high tech to the next level. The three level store will have 44 fitting rooms and 24 cash registers and 300 employees to aid customers. One major addition will be the option to “try and buy,” which will allow shoppers to pay for items in the dressing room area. Shoppers will also be able to strut their stuff on the digital runway which will display on the LED screens in the store and the content will be emailed to them for use on social media.
