The 2013 Do Something Awards was a night of celebrities and charity. The awards honored everyday people and celebrities alike. The awards were given to charitable people that do wonderful things for others. The show began with host Sophia Bush giving lessons on how to become a “causy” person. Danny Pudi was her overly enthusiastic student.
By the end of the opening sketch Sophia had successfully taught Pudi how to get involved with important causes. Sophia’s monologue was light and funny.
The celebrities that were being honored were: Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Osbourne, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, LL Cool J, and Patrick Dempsey. There is a competition between five different young people that have all started their own causes they were each vying for $100,000 towards their charity.
The show was entertaining and uplifting. Sara Bareilles , Fitz and the Tantrums, and J.Cole all had musical performances. Although the show focused on being humble and giving back, stars were still giving fashion glory. My favorites of the night were Kelly Osborune who was honored for being a charitable celeb, and Avan Jogia star of the ABC Family show Twisted. Kelly rocked a lace sleeved black dress, with her pale purple tresses pulled back, making her red bold lips stand out. Avan stood out because he was able to pull off a Georgio Armani capri pant suit. The night was full of good vibes and great entertainment.
