Everyone came out to support TGT, Sevyn Streeter and K.Michelle at the Atlanta records event. Celebs that graced the red carpet included Jennifer Williams of Basketball Wives, Kaylin Garcia of Love & Hip-Hop and Radio/TV personality K.Fox to name a few. In addition many up and coming recording artists like singer-songwriter Sevyn performed her hit single “It Won’t Stop” and a rendition of Chris Brown’s (who label he is signed to) “Just like China”. Sevyn was followed by singer, songwriter and reality K.Michelle brought down the house with her beautiful vocals and touching lyrics. Doing both fan favorites (Kiss My Ass) and new material(Can’t Raise a Man) from her new album “Rebellious Soul” due out Aug 13 K.Michelle performance was amazing. Her album can currently be preordered on iTunes, its a definite must buy. TGT( Tyrese Ginuwine Tank) has gained lots of media attention lately for member Ginuwine’s unusual behavior during the band’s performance on WLNY‘s morning news show The Couch. His actions have lend to rumors that Ginuwine is once again using drugs and that there is now friction between fellow band mat/best friend Tyrese Gibson. Gibson took to twitter and posted snarky remarks about the instant.
I’m glad to report that the showcase was completely drama free with all three members sounding and looking amazing.First they flawlessly performed old school classics “Knocking Da Boots” and “Poison”. Next each member performed the songs propelled them into mega-stardom with Tyrese singing “Sweet Lady” Tank doing “Please Don’t Go” and Ginuwine rounding it out with “So Anxious” and “Pony” They perfectly brought back true R&B with has been sorely missing from the industry. Making their upcoming album 3 kings due to be released Aug 20 a must have. The Atlanta Records showcase brought us back to a time when singers could sang! And not a moment too soon.
