Inspiration within the community is a beautiful thing. Inspiring young citizens to pursue a field of creation would be considered extraordinary. Black History Month brings upon us the Noir La Mode Extravaganza, a week long series of events spanning New York, coinciding with New York Fall/Winter Week. These events are designed to celebrate and honor independent African American designers, as well as inspire aspiring fashion designers to follow their passion. The event’s intent was to inspire as well as honor. Taking place in Hempstead’s African American Museum, there was a fashion show showcasing some amazing pieces, some light social mingling and networking. Check out the photos!
