Frank Ocean is the latest in the new “coming-out” trend to reveal his sexuality, something almost unheard of in the music industry.

In what the Television industry has dubbed, “Take Out the Trash Day” both Anderson Cooper and Frank Ocean have opened up about their sexual orientations. Unlike Cooper however, Frank Ocean’s admissions are believed to be addressed in his upcoming album “Channel Orange”.

Since his introduction on the scene with his mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra, Ocean has gained the repuatation of being daring, different, and mysterious. With his choice to openly share his sexuality, he has once again set himself apart from his peers in the industry.

According to The Urban Daily, Frank Ocean previewed the LP in London causing many critics to catch the unexpected bisexual references within certain tracks. Here’s an exerpt from ThisisMax.net: [quote_left] Frank has also opened up about his sexuality on the album, we think it’s brave and admire him for being so honest and sharing such a personal aspect of his life through his music. On the songs ‘Bad Religion’ ‘Pink Matter and ‘Forrest Gump’ you can hear him sing about being in love and there are quite obvious words used like ‘him’ and not ‘her’. [/quote_left]

Considering the artist Frank Ocean has portrayed himself to be, it’s hard to imagine this having a negative impact on his career. Has his admission altered how you view him or are you still riding for his awesome music?
