Curly Girl Collective hosted Attraction: His Voice, Her Hair on Sunday October 14 at Free Candy located in Brooklyn.  Naturalistas from all over the city gathered to take part in the event that raised an interesting question –How do men feel about girls with kinky curls?

The event was sponsored by Eden Body Works, a hair care line, and included an engaging panel that sparked and intriguing conversation about natural hair.  The speakers included Franchesca “Chescaleigh” Ramsey, Slim Jackson of Single Black Male, Cipriana Quann of Urban Bush Babes, and Jozen Cummings of Until I Get Married.

Besides an evening of conversation, guests were able to browse through vendors jewelry and apparel, contribute to the interactive mural, and share their curly girl confessions, which included things like the shocking comments natural women heard when they made the choice to embrace their hair.

A representative from Eden Body Works introduced a new product from the line – peppermint tea tree hair milk which helps lock in moisture during the winter season. She also shared an important tip for all you natural beauties and potential natural beauties –keep your hair moisturized and wear protector styles (weaves/braids) during the cold season
